John Profaci of Mid State Realty facilitates open space for Monroe
MONROE John Profaci, broker/owner of Mid State Realty, completed a recent land transaction that will provide 26.1 acres of open space to the township. While Monroe continues to undergo rapid growth and development, which is in the best interest of most real estate brokers, Profaci also recognizes the importance of preservation and protecting some of the landscape of the township.
"Land acquisition of any type is often a complex transaction, due to the variables involved," Profaci said. "However, when I was approached to market and sell this particular property, located on Gravel Hill Spotswood Road, it appeared to be an ideal piece of land to either be owned by the township or Middlesex County."
"Having the resources in place to do so, we were able to reach out to all parties involved and secure this successful acquisition of such a beautiful piece of land," Profaci added.
After being able to provide the value of the land, and the value it would add to the township, Middlesex County agreed to purchase the property. Although this type of transaction is rare, Profaci said it made him and his entire office staff proud to service a community such as Monroe Twp.
"Our knowledge of the area was an instrumental component in aiding to reach this recognized milestone," Profaci said.
This particular parcel of land has ties to the Battle at Monmouth, and so based on its history alone, it's worthy of preservation, but just as importantly, preserving it helps to maintain the semi-rural landscape of the community, according to Profaci. Many of Mid State Realty’s agents are Monroe residents and are proud of this accomplishment.
"While we are in the business of selling homes, we also realize the important aspects this transaction as for the township," Profaci said.
